            Casey Edwards

 

     Casey Edwards is a graduate of Hurricane High School where he was a four year member of the award-winning “Red Hot” show choir and served as president, dance captain, and assistant to the choreographer. Throughout his high school career, Casey accumulated numerous outstanding performer and individual solo awards at various show choir invitationals in West Virginia, Ohio, and New York. The most prestigious of these awards was being named “Best Male Soloist” in the state of West Virginia at the 2008 WVMEA State Competition.  Along with these awards, Casey was also a scholarship recipient to Show Choir Camps of America where he performed in the student talent showcase and was one of five performers who received the “Outstanding Student Talent” award. During the summer, he now works as a camp counselor at SCA in Tiffin, Ohio.

      In addition to show choir, Casey has been involved in a variety of other activities such as the Charleston Light Opera Guild in their production of Disney’s High School Musical where he played “Troy Bolton” and also played “Al” in Marshall University’s performance of A Chorus Line. His dance experience includes performing as principal male dancer for four years at Kelle Boggs Dance Studio. Casey is now attending Marshall University as a Music Education major with a concentration in choral music. He studies voice under Dr. Larry Stickler and is a member of the highly prestigious chamber choir under the direction of Dr. David Castleberry, who will be traveling to France next year to perform a series of concerts. Recently, Casey has completed in depth studies of Vocal Techniques and studied English, Italian, French and German diction. Outside of his music study, Casey can be seen as a clinician and choreographer for many of the top show choirs right here in West Virginia.
